About Us:

The Michigan Technology Network (MITN) is a statewide organization driven to enhance the development of technology professionals through education and networking events with a focus on community involvement.  Our core pillars, which drive our organization and its goals, are Education, Networking, and Community.

The MITN Lansing Chapter is focused on serving those in and around the Greater Lansing area looking for a strong IT organization.

About our three core pillars:

Community:

One of our goals is to support and strengthen the Lansing IT community and find ways to come together and make a difference.  We help support and promote events from other IT related organizations. We also try to stay aware of other community events related to IT that we could sponsor, volunteer, or promote. We also have a dedication to helping people get educated and provide fellowships to members of our community to further their IT education. By working with our local educational partners, we are able to provide fellowships to programs at several IT learning channels which gives people a chance to take a class or training. MITN Lansing is committed to the community we serve. In addition, we have an annual Electronic Waste Drive which also gives back usable items to non-profits and our Holiday Party every year selects a charity for a fundraiser.

Education:

MITN is designed to help educate the members of many technology topics in a world where we can get niched into a specific technology. Our educational events range from training sessions to learning about new facilities in the area, new programs, new companies, or new technologies.  Our goal is to add value by increasing knowledge sharing in the area and help keep you up-to-date on what’s happening in the IT field (especially things happening in the Lansing area).

network:

We network by holding mixers where members can enjoy food and drinks with their peers.  This is mostly a social setting, but we provide brief updates on upcoming events in the community related to IT. We also use this time to promote a local sponsor and will mix in games and discussion ideas.
